Glenn at the Armageddon Pulp Culture
Expo in Melbourne in June 1999. |

Dynamic Marketing promo card. |
Glenn Ford was born on August 10th, 1953 and has established
himself as one of the best Australian Phantom artists. Although only ever drawing
one Phantom story, his work has appeared on numerous other Phantom items such as cards,
posters, diaries and even computer mouse mats.
Since the early 1990s, Glenn has
been credited for doing many Frew Phantom covers including their 50th Anniversary Issue -
issue no. 1209 and the accompanying reference book. He has also achieved a number of
firsts in this field such as creating the first computerised Phantom cover (issue no.
1000) and creating the first painted Frew Phantom cover (issue no. 1032). In 1996, the fourth Australian story, 'The Search for Byron' was
published (issue no. 1131). This story was written by Frew publisher, Jim
Shepherd and illustrated by Glenn Ford. The issue was also wrapped in a beautiful
cover also by Ford. |
